Rauði krossinn / Red Cross Building

Höfuðstöðvar Rauða kross Íslands í Reykjavík
1997

The building contains the general offices for the Red Cross in Iceland.
The building expresses the restrained and deliberate use of form, geometry and materials. The distribution of program elements is organized by a courtyard which is accessible from the public part of the entry level and acts as a visual reference for the offices on the second floor.

The first floor houses an entry foyer, cafeteria, conference room and library, guest apartment, maintenance and support spaces. Offices and meeting rooms are on the second floor.
The building was awarded the DV 1997 Annual Cultural Award for Architecture.
